At my local hardware store and they did have sleeve or tube nuts. At the time I did not look to see if they had 8-32 or if they were brass and plated or in steel. Having them drilled through is not...

I had the same problem on a 35. I used brass countersink head screws and had them drilled through, tapped and the threads removed. The countersink angle did not match the frame and the heads had to...

If you have 6V on the red power wire to the distributor and with the spark plug wires removed, car in neutral, with E brake on, turn the engine over by hand and watch the voltmeter, if it goes to 3...

Can test the sender using air hook up a battery and use the gauge. Older senders can become plugged with dry sludge from the engine oil. The sludge can be cleaned out without damage to the senders...

What your readings are telling you is Skips original coil is 6V and needs the Ford series resistor. Your aftermarket coil is also 6V and does not need the Ford resistor. Both coils look good to go....

48-3736 plate (switch lever retainer) has the 1935 part number prefix and was used from 35-37. The 32 with the bulls eye die cast thumb switch used it since the switch lever has the slot on the rear...

Go to a sign shop and get a very small and thin piece of Lexan they use for sign cover. You can cut the Lexan to the round shape and size.

Your car sounds GREAT thanks for being on the barn! It appears something is not quite wired correctly if the light in the glove box is on with the light switch in the OFF position.

The outer metal trim ring around the dome light comes off to get to the light bulb. The lights plastic lens is connected to the trim ring so it comes off with the ring.

Yes the one far end of the rotation of the rehostat will turn the instrument and clock light off. Below is a photo of the 39 light switch and function from the passenger and commercial owners...

The wiring diagram is deceiving. If you look in the owners reference book you will find the light switch has an off position in the center of it's three positions. In the off position the battery...

32-36 has the plate to prevent the switch lever from moving sidewise (L or R)
