Can test the sender using air hook up a battery and use the gauge. Older senders can become plugged with dry sludge from the engine oil. The sludge can be cleaned out without damage to the senders...

What your readings are telling you is Skips original coil is 6V and needs the Ford series resistor. Your aftermarket coil is also 6V and does not need the Ford resistor. Both coils look good to go....

48-3736 plate (switch lever retainer) has the 1935 part number prefix and was used from 35-37. The 32 with the bulls eye die cast thumb switch used it since the switch lever has the slot on the rear...

Go to a sign shop and get a very small and thin piece of Lexan they use for sign cover. You can cut the Lexan to the round shape and size.
