Re: Parts that don't fit
I found the same thing, that the ones sold by the ordinary Model A vendors were too high. Read somewhere that Bob Drakes repops were recommended. Got a pair of them, and found they were...

Re: Deluxe Phaeton top snaps
I saw this youtube video the other day, on 180-A wood restoration.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJe3sSo86x8&t=3s
The guy seems in general very knowledgeable about the 180-A, and interested...

Re: Vacuum Wiper Parts
For both springs the coil diameter is 127/1000" and the wire diameter is 18/1000"
For the original wiper, the spring length is 0.66", and for the replacement wiper, the spring length is 0.47"

Re: Vacuum Wiper Parts
You need to tell us which wiper you've got.
The original ones (TR- series) takes a long spring for which I have not seen any replacements. For the later replacement wiper (TCX-series) which takes...

Re: Model A decklid/ rumble seat lid bumper
The bumper seems to high, which I believe to remember was the case with what I could buy from most of the ordinary suppliers. I believe that I finally bought the correct height bumper from Bob Drake

Re: Town Car Deliveries
The "Ford Model A as Henry Built It" book states that the town car delivery had an all aluminum body.
I would assume that applies only to the package compartment, and that the front doors and cowl...

Re: Fraud
That guy is a crook. I was attempted ripped off over at the garage journal over the "worldpart44" Email address. I was advertising for a tool wanted. The guy sent a picture, however as I had...

Re: Model A Town Car?
Brad,
Add a 1930 hood. I wonder how they got that to fit....
Is it possible to determine if the radiator shell is 28/29 or 30/31. Are there any more pictures ?
Also, is it possible to make...

Re: Model A Town Car?
I think your assumption that the body sat around until 1930, seems very plausible Bob.
Indeed a strange animal.

Re: Model A Town Car?
As you say, Brad, it is only a modified town sedan. I visited the museum just before it closed, and it was an OK way to spend a day, but I suspect that I would have enjoyed it more if I had known...

Re: Model A Town Car?
Here is the article about "the pelican".
Never heard of the one in South America. Would be nice to know more about that one, if you are at liberty to share.

Re: Model A Town Car?
Bob, That’s interesting to hear. Hopefully with two other TC’s in the shop, he can make you an exact replica of the partition wall that you are missing.
Yesterday, I was counting over the 1987...

Re: Model A Town Car?
Brent, perhaps I should rephrase the question. The last overview that I personnally have seen of how many town cars are in existence is that given in «The Restorer, March/April 1987!!!! Are each of...

"Currently restoring 3 of these" ??
Are they unrestored/hitherto unknown ones, or are they some of the ones that have been known for a long time being given a re-restoration ?

Trico vacuum wiper plating
30/31 Deluxe models are usually equipped with Chrome plated windshield wipers. In my instance (30’ 68B) it is a TR-C1 B.
I would really like to get this correct on my car, and wonder if there is...

Would it be possible to post a picture of the part, preferably mounted in place, just for general education to show us who have not got such a car, what it is?
Is the part identical between the...

Actually, having scanned all the Cabriolet wood drawing that i've got (all except doors) none of them "allow" ash. It would surprise me if the Fordor body, also made by Briggs, and from which many...

Re: European Fordor project
For most wood parts in the body, there was a multiple choice of which type of wood to use. I guess that this was in order to avoid production halts / supply chain problems due to unavailability of a...
