The tube was missing that directs the return oil back into the pan. It screws in.

Thanks guys. It turned out to be the missing tube off the rear main cap that was missing. The engine was rebuilt and that was left off. No leaks now.

39 flat head rear main return tube

My 39 59ab was leaking oil out of the rear of the engine profusely. Pulled the engine then the pan and found that the return tube coming out of the rear main cap was missing. Newly over hauled...
