I found your old thread its still there with pics.
This was given to me because I turned my pickup into a tow truck with a weaver crane. So I will add it to my truck thou I will never use it. :D

yes it mounts to the frame just like the other style. The internal parts are also different.

I ordered the speedo gear and case from Snyders. It came with a metal gear (not nylon). See how it last.

Brake light switch for a model A?

It was found in a bucket of parts. Mounts right up and works just fine. But not sure its for a model A specifically. I put more pics in a album.

Yes go back to their website and lookup tire tubes. I don't know what's different but they do recommend radial tubes.

If I remember correctly, you will also need special tubes for Radials.

I ordered a new gear and case with a few extra gaskets from Snyders. It does seem to be to tight. The inside of the case also shows wear. getting cold weather here, so it may be summer before I know...

I installed a Weaver Crane to my truck and I'm surprised at how well it handles.
It brakes just fine. Don't feel as if the extra load is pushing me as I brake.
It takes turns without leaning like...

In just 170 miles the Nylon drive gear striped out after installing a rebuilt speedo meter. Damage could have started before installing the speedometer. Any thoughts on what may have caused this...

I looked for a AA but had no luck at the time. I agree the A model is to light for this crane. So I'm rethinking this whole project.

I don't doubt that!
I'm sure there would be many issues when driving it. I believe the crane would have to be put on for shows only. Turn to fast and you might be on your side. brakes would have...
