Re: Trailer winch

I have a small Warn in my trailer. 2000 lb capacity, I think. Maybe one size bigger? You don't need 10k lbs to roll a car into the trailer. Consider a synthetic cable instead of metal, if your...

Re: Stupid, ... or Smart?

You could have it analyzed. Probably about $40. One-time investment to see if it's still useable.

Re: Is a Restoration In Your Future?

I'm referring to it as a rehab. I have a family car, purchased in the'40s by my mom's great uncle. It's a basket case, but still solid. And I got the engine started a few weekends ago. It last ran in...

Re: iPhone App to Track Maintenance, Fuel Ups, Etc.

I don't think it exists for iPhone, (sorry, but it might help someone else reading this thread), but I use an android app called My Cars. It does pretty much everything you want, except you have to...

Re: What Defines Over-Revving The Model A's Engine

Windage is the resistance from the air/oil mist that gets churned up in the crankcase. Think about the air being moved inside the crankcase by the pistons going up and down, and the oil draining...

Re: Misnomer - Front Engine Support

Re: Misnomer - Front Engine Support

If I am reading the drawing correctly, the unloaded spring is 1-5/8" - 1-11/16" long. 60 lbs will compress it to 1-1/8". So the spring rate is 107-120 lb/in?
