Re: Spark Plug Reading

Mine were carboned up like yours. I removed the small air cleaner elements that were restricting the flow. It also appeared there was not enough clearance between the aircleaner base and cover so I...

Re: Mohawk lifts

Mohawk makes a quality lift. It would be hard to wear one out. All depends on what kind of deal you are getting.
I have two other brand lifts, ones a four post and the other a two post. Putting the...

Re: Again?! this time juddering at a stop

Ok I'll armchair quarterback.
Can we rule out the motor? Does it cough and spit when coming to a stop?
How does it act when letting out the clutch in reverse?

Re: Electrical Fire Hazard.

From the picture, it looks like you have the red and white wire under one terminal. Is there a reason to hook it up this way?
If the motor is of any size 1/2 hp and above. I would suggest, a starter...

Re: Again?! this time juddering at a stop

"feels like the engine stalling and shuddering, however the vacuum gauge doesn't move , Alt light doesn't come on etc ."

You need to distinguish if it's the motor or something else and go from...

Re: electrical issue

Don't be so tough on yourself. Electrical issues frustrate most people.
Did the turn signals ever work correctly with the headlights on?

Re: Clutch Recommendation

Based on Paul Garrigans article. I went down to a 9 inch clutch and lightened the flywheel by 7 to 8 lbs. to lower the rotating mass. Since I'm I going by seat of pants feeling from last year, I...

Re: fuel pump push rod hole and electic fuel pump

The Carter frame mount one works well. Very heavy duty, but noisy at idle. Napa sells them B-0222-E

Re: One of those annoying questions...

I like the way you're thinking. I'm doing the same. A T5 would probably preform better, but installing a modern type tranny in my car is not what I want to do with my car. To each his own.

Re: Mallory sbc to 8BA 4 lobe cam issues

This one says 49-53 Ford / Merc 6volt negative grd on the box. But you can wire them positive ground.

I suspect, all the Magsparks like this are the same unit. The part numbers change...
