spring drive

for something to do, we took 4 laps around Watkins Glen international raceway this morning. Was a hoot! found out a '60 ford with drum brakes will never make a road race car!

Also like JayChicago says, I have never had any problem with E-10 gas since it was introduced. Use it all the time in our '60 Ford and used it for 25 yrs in our '41 Ford.

from pics I have found, the sender appears to be accessed from inside the trunk. looks like opposite side from the filler pipe. check for an access door in trunk floor.

On our '60, the switch has to be in the on position. Can be a pain in the ***! If in the off position I believe the catch is too far back. I insert the shaft in gently while holding the latch down...

Yes, there are tension bars. Haven't gotten the guts to try and adj. them yet. Looks "easy" in the Ford manual. We'll see!!

I'd pull the tailshaft housing off and try the slip yoke. If it fits bushing is correct and then I'd try it on the output shaft. It may be the wrong slip joint inner splines.. should slide in easily...
