Well further info to share and have some insight.
The picture shows the block rear main and inside the red you will notice an elongated dark spot. That spot is a hole clean through the babbitt. Is...

I try the best I can to use original parts.

Thanks. Will check the end play. Other than the rear leak the engine ran strong and very quiet. Compression is excellent.

Clearance is not quite .0015. It has had a rebuild at some point but I do not know what went on.
