Re: dry transmission

Is the front really raised up? The stock Model A transmission has no seals, just a oil slinger. It only takes a 1.5 pints to fill the transmission, this isn't even up to the bearing to leak past if...

Re: Spreading frame to install engine

I got lucky with mine. I just used a pry bar and the engine fell right into place. I just started one bolt on the front of the engine, before prying on the mount in the rear.

Re: Shocks - reproduction vs. rebuilt

I just bought a modern set from Ken Davis Model A if that is what you are looking for. He's probably $100 cheaper than the major vendors, and they all about the same. ...

Re: Brookville Roadster Running Boards

I sent them back, one day before I found out Rootlieb is having problems sourcing parts. I might wait to see if they are able to produce the 28/29 running boards again.

Re: Brookville Roadster Running Boards

I think I am going to send them back. The inside lip is too tall. The original is something around 0.425" tall and sits flush with the mounting pad. The Brookville roadster inside lip is 0.600" tall...

Re: Brookville Roadster Running Boards

I actually emailed brookville roadster and asked them how to take the trim off. They went and talked to the guy making the running boards. This is the response I received. I'm sorry to say that I...

Re: Preferred parts vendors

I frequent Snyders, Model A Medic, Brattons, Berts, Mikes. Pretty much find who has what I need. Ideally you would buy from who is close to your location to save on shipping.

I have been doing the same thing. I hit down in the door with a sand blaster but boy does that make a mess. I was thinking of brushing epoxy paint in the bottom of my doors. POR15 is also a option. I...

Re: Brookville Roadster Running Boards

Thanks for the help. Has anyone taken the trim off of a new set of running boards? It looks like it will just pop off , but I didn't want to be wrong.

I'm using SPI epoxy, bond with the metal shouldn't be a problem. I lay all my body filler on top of it.
