'40 Part ID & source
Please see photos. This is the channel that screws to the front of the door jamb edge, and the kick panel fits into it, plus it retains the windlace in that area. The side I do have is pretty beat...

Re: ‘48 Allard on eBay with a Ford Flathead V8
If I can find the photos, there was an Allard at the vintage races in Loudon NH several years ago. It was powered by Ardun equipped flathead, and was driven by Zora Arkus Duntov in the '50s at...

I have probably seen the amp rating for the stock '40 headlight circuit breaker somewhere, but can't seem to locate it. Can someone help me out with the correct amperage rating. Thank you.

Re: Reds headers & Brockman exhaust
That's what I used in the '40. Red's headers & exhaust pipes to the mufflers. I had to use 12" mellow tone mufflers from Van Pelt, as they were the only length that would fit in the X-member area....

Re: Measuring for torque tube shortening
Good advice. When I shortened the '40 rear end for the '32 frame we took the same amount out of the torque tube as we did the drive shaft, and it worked great. For a good overview of the process,...

Re: not a fan.
The engine shop that built the 59L for the '40 coupe balanced the '40 hub and fan, so balancing the unit should not be an issue.

Re: 32 spring bushings
It seems to me that some replacement shackle studs came with "marsden" nuts that are self locking and do not require a cotter pin. That may be why no holes for cotter pins. Unless it's for points, to...
