Re: 1946 ford grill gaurd

Re: Quick way to free locked steering column '47 PU ?

Be patient and not in a hurry. DON'T drill out the cylinder and ruin it. Do as 49 ford says: Drill and tap the plug holding the cylinder in then pull it out like he said. Then you can reach in with a...

Re: 50's cars

Same here, high school in the mid fifties and some of us would sit on the corner and see who could be first to guess the oncoming cars.

Re: New pic

Walt,
You are becoming a computer wizard. Nice rod. Now who built the engine? My guess is it was that guy in Gardiner that talks with a funny accent.:)

Re: Raising the vin number on a frame.

Bill,
What year are you talking about? On the 46 I believe the VIN is only on the frame. Not transmission or engine. Maybe someone will come in with the facts.

Re: here we go again... does anyone make 3 7/8

Okay,

Don's passing is sad indeed.
I got to know Don while playing with flatheads at Vic's. A fun guy with a great sense of humor and not afraid to kid Vic if Vic made a blunder. I had some memorable...

Re: Another myth put out to pasture

Come on guys,
Too many guys on here that apparently have doctorates in metallurgy. If you have .003 runout that means the center journal is .0015 off center. Bolt that center cap and button it up....

Jwl,
I think he is talking about the gasket from the pickup to the pump. Not the bottom plate gasket. Thickness is not critical there. JMO. John

Re: What cleanout plugs for Merc crank?

Re: Oil Pump Test

So many times a fellow will ask a question on repairing a part and he gets all kinds of advice but not an answer to his question.

Why buy a new pump ($140+) when you can test yours. Pumps are...
