Re: 3-3/8” tach for 36 5w

Curious if you ended up installing your tach and where you ended up installing it (radio spot or ?)

What tach did you end up going with?

The 37 is back in action - Pops would be proud

Pops purchased this car (his first antique) in 1975. As there was no back seat, my brother and I used to ride around in the trunk (it’s cavernous back there!).

Thanks to Ken, we got her running...

Re: Ignition Issues, Crab distributor

Was having issues with my 37. Thought it was carb / fuel pump related, but it may have been intermittent spark from my corroded rotor tab. Popped off the crab style dist cap and noticed soot on...

Re: Mercury Down

Nothing worse than the sound of a wheel bearing heading “south”…especially when you have some place to go.

Similar to your experience, I needed to get my 2 rear bearings changed before traveling...

I would like to nominate this particular thread to be a “Sticky” so it’s always near the top of the Early V8 discussion thread.

Re: 1941 6v generator only charge's 6.1 volt

I’ll be taking both my generator and voltage regulator to a local expert. If either (or both) need replacement and/or rebuilding, he’ll do it.

I’ll also be assured the polarity is correct as...

Re: What did you do today that was flathead V8 related?

New tires were ordered from Coker.

BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial | 2.50 Inch Whitewall | 215/75R15

Old tires were from 2003 per the date code. I’d say they were overdue.

Love post 241 as I’m about to have the generator on the 37 Ford rebuilt & possibly a new voltage regulator. Found out the hard way the battery didn’t seem to be charging.

For the 1953 Merc, I...

Ken,

Thank you for all of your hard work in preparing / hosting this meet.

I’m registered & paid up already.

I’ll be spending the next few months doing some prep work on the Merc.

A friend (thanks Ken) forwarded this thread to me today and it came in very handy.

Performed the test in post 6 above & determined my 12V generator is not working.

No deflection noticed on the...

Re: First time poster... with a couple of questions.

I’m new to this Forum as well but have throughly enjoyed reading this thread. Lots of great suggestions.

My first post as a friend referred me to this forum!

I replaced the ballast resistor & coil on my 37 Coupe late Sunday and took her for a great test drive yesterday.
