Got my rebuilt coil back from Skip. He had a Ford script coil which was awesome. Got it put on and only had time to fire it up to see that it works. Need to get time to let it run awhile.

I’ve got a later distributor and coil. 2 screw coil.
It did the same thing tonight. Warmed it up and tried to restart and nothing. Waited about 30 min and it fired right up.
It stays running...

So I went out and tried to start again. Fired right up! So something is going on when it gets up to temp. I first thought vapor lock but I only drove the car easy a few miles.

Update:
I got very lucky and found a local guy Jim (JimTN). He is a super nice guy and a lifetime of knowledge. We figured out I had a weak spark going to the Distributor. Discovered the adapter...

The mods that I know of are the following.
40’s hydraulic brakes (floor cut)
Coil and distributor.
59 Carb
Added water temp and oil pressure gauge.
Moved starter button from floor to dash....

Single Ford 59 carb.
Factory intake .
Adapter installed on top of 3 bolt helmet distributor (condensor on top and external 6 volt coil with two terminals)

Still wrapping my head around positive ground!
So should the positive side of the coil go to the distributor/condensor?
