Re: Leaky steering box
Charlie NY (Charlie Schwendler) did an excellent job of rebuilding a 37 box for us.
He always goes the extra mile. Highly recommended.

Re: 1936 Horn problem
You are correct. The horns sound because the wire feeding them has been grounded.
An auxiliary switch would be open until grounded when the button is pressed. Originally I don't think there was...

Re: Jump Starting?
Anthony,
Just a suggestion: if you have not worked on 6v, the ground side of the system is much more critical with 6v than 12v. In particular, look carefully at the point where the positive...

Re: Yet another horn rod question
Dunno if it qualifies as a trick, but we used two needlenose pliers.
After placing the larger u-shaped clip over the spring, we put the needle nose on either side of the bottom of the clip and...

Re: Yet another horn rod question
We swapped out the '36 Column for a '37.
Fitting the horn rod took about two hours! It had a slight bend, and some crud and hardened grease. We cleaned everything up really well. We also took...

Re: Bumper jack handle
Hmmmm,
That style jack handle has probably been a murder weapon more than any other part on the FH Ford.<grin>

Re: Vacuum testing questions, stock 21 stud
The reason for the test was to use the vacuum gauge to set the initial timing at idle.
We understand the way to do this is hook up the gauge and move the set screw on the side of the distributor...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
I _thought_ I saw it in an early version of the catalog, but it was not in the final printed one. Lots of things happen that we are shielded from in the high end of the collector car world. Thank...
