Re: 1948-1950 Ford Pick-Ups

NO, the F-2 Front fenders are about 2 1/2 higher to accommodate larger F-2 tires. My 1951 F-1 had F-2 front fenders, which came from a re-builder I bought from.

Borg Warner OD Relay Gap(1953)

What is the correct point gap for the 1953 Ford (W10) OD Relay Point. Mine is .050 but may be skipping occasionally. Not stated in the Ford Shop Manual

Thanks Much, Don

Re: solenoid with start button

From my earlier thread; RE the Echlin ST-58 NAPA gave me that would not work on my '49 Ford positive ground PU which as I know, requires the ST-53. If solenoids are not polarity sensitive, then the...

Re: solenoid with start button

Leon, I think the ST 58 is for Negative ground only. ST 53 is the one for Positive ground. I found this out the hard way when NAPA thru the wrong one in the bag when I needed one (ST53) for positive...

Re: 1948 F1 production no's

KIWI,
I know that 1949 F-! production started on 6-10-48 and ran thru 11-15-49. Also '49 parts start with 1948 number(8). Ford expected the '49's to all commence in 1948.

'51 Looks very similar to the 1953 Ford ornament except yours has a cockpit and larger wing tip tanks shaped like a jet engine minus the large base.
