Re: rod nuts...why the odd size?

Plenty to think about gents...no insult taken, thanks for the input! I just got back from the hardware store and bought 8 new 7/16-20 slotted nuts, grade 5. There's more 'meat' on the hex than the...

Re: rod nuts...why the odd size?

Should I obtain grade 8, or will grade 5 suffice? It's not a high performance rebuild. I've found 5/8x7/16-20NF castle nuts on Amazon. This engine was built by my uncle in 1990 just before he...

Removing the pistons on my engine became quite the job yesterday. Even had to cut one of the connecting rod nuts because I don't have the correct size socket it appears. 5/8 was too small and 11/16...

Re: Quick jack lift for Model A

I have a Quick Jack and used it for my Model A. Yes, I had to move it around to get the proper lifting points, and use the extenders provided....but with careful preparation I was able to do it. I've...

Re: Show your A in Christmas Decor

Mr. Woofa...Bumble is what Yukon Cornelius called the Abominable Snowman in the animated Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer back in the 60's.

Re: ID intake manifold

Linkage is 'buggered up', but that is definitely a jeep L head manifold set-up including Carter W-O carb. (civilian version). Would work on WWII MB/GPW, CJ2A, 3A jeeps...or PE95 generator for that...

Re: What are these inside "NOS" cluster gear?

If large enough, those look to be for the post war common jeep T 90 tranny.

Re: First start of summer 2023

Yesterday (4/14), it was 83* here in Maine. Decided to get 'Bessie' the '29 RPU out for the first time in 6 months. Had it on a battery maintainer all winter and pulled the fuse on the starter too. ...

Re: modern shock upgrade

Hopefully the future owner will be my son who is currently 11 years old. To close this thread, I decided to go with the Ken Davis kit. Sent him the check and just waiting for it to arrive!

Thanks...

Re: 66th Model "A" Ford New England Meet

Re: modern shock upgrade

I stand corrected...'change over to modern tube shocks' should be the title. Although I'd like originals, it wouldn't be worth the cost for me...a restored vehicle, definitely yes!

Re: modern shock upgrade
