Re: old gas - like 10 years old
That reminds me of the old fuel I found in a piece of yard equipment I hadn't used for a number of years. I got a "good" taste of while I tried siphoning it out of its tank. I couldn't get the taste...

Re: Intake manifold
Only the pipe is a 2V part. The rest will work for a 4V. All you need then is the carb spacer, PCV and few pieces of short rubber hose.
That little teapot looking adapter is a very hard to find part.

Re: 59 edsel
IMO, the Edsel was a much nicer looking car than the Ford. Same for '60.

Re: FE set in stone.
I agree it looks like a MEL. It resembles this 430 I found on the web.

Re: 292 Distributor stuck
It could be that. I often assume most cast parts are usually pot metal.
Try at your own risk. :D...

Re: FE set in stone.
I thought it was a Y-Block at first but then I didn't see the valve cover studs nor adjustable rockers. You can see some of the valve cover bolts around the top edge of the head which made me think...

FE set in stone.
Cool meme found on another site. Looks like an old FE.

Re: 292 Distributor stuck
One thing I might add is that since the distributor is made of pot metal, you need to be careful about how much you heat it. It doesn't take much to melt or distort the metal.

Re: 6-12 volt
I think it's still easier and cheaper to find the right cables than looking for and ordering all the resistors, bulbs and upgrading the generator or buying an alternator and then doing all the work...

Re: Ebay 57 Ford parts
I use very specific search terms in my searches and use "exclude words..." in the advanced search options to eliminate a lot of unwanted results. I would put Ecklersautomotive in that field.

Re: 6-12 volt
The most common issue I've seen with problematic 6v starting systems is wrong sized battery and ground cables. You can't use the same gauged cables on a 6v system as you do on a 12v. 6v cables are...

Re: Radiator woes
Macs on Foster Rd should be a good place for your radiator needs. I've used them before and they looked like they work on anything. I think they've been around since the 40's/50's.

Re: '56/'57 Lincoln Continental Mk II
Yes, Zapato did pass away a few years ago. He had a few projects that he had been working on that included a shoebox and a 57 Ford 2dr post. I don't doubt they were sold off.
I passed on his MKII...

Re: '56/'57 Lincoln Continental Mk II
The floors were in bad shape when I saw them and there were signs of front end damage that wasn't repaired too well. Zapato said the car had sat for many years in a barn before he got it and someone...
