Re: Highest scoring MARC car ever
Hey Mark, I thought you had been around this awhile. To my knowledge the high mark was ten years ago at 498.45. Of course the way things have changed it will be surpassed in the future.

Re: Woodgraining in the pacific northwest
Sounds like fun! However if you want to appeal to a primarily Model A audience you may want to bone up on Model A woodgraining so you can can show an example of at least one of the four varieties...

Re: Windlace issue
It's either the wrong type of windlace (1/2" foam core), or not properly made for that application, or a combination of both. I could probably tell from a photo. It was originally 3/8" tubular core...

Are you saying the strap folds into the jam or it pushes the windlace into the jam?

Re: Re-core radiator cost
A couple of quick points. First, I looked a couple of your pics posted in the past. The radiator in your car is an older replacement. Good or bad, I can't say because I've only been around...

Re: 31 seats
Several folks over the years have adapted Tudor seats to Victorias. I've never paid much attention to what they did but you can certainly adapt a hinge to the front of a Tudor seat but I'm not sure...

Re: What is a Touring Motor
I never saw a description of the babbitt in that engine. It was sounding like a possible candidate for top end overhaul and ending up with an engine better than most rebuilds.

Re: 31-32 Ford rumble seat springs
That is an early 1930. It's possibly a Coupe body built by Briggs. Look on the firewall on the right side where the patent plate should be for a second plate or a pair of holes below the four holes...

Re: Security???
I read it. Anyone that knows my name and has simple to moderate skills can locate me as I can most folks if I choose to. I have no reason to loose sleep over that. One can be wise AND comfortable.

I'm on the same page as you as I've never worried about a car being stolen and not much else in reality. I couldn't live that way. With that said, I don't live in a rural area with my stuff in a...

Re: Is oil pressure gauge really needed?
I had a full pressure system in one car and wouldn't be without a gauge. I would never bother in any of the others. I know what I have and simply nothing to be concerned about.

Re: A question on Les Andrews's ring specs
If it seizes up while running it should be toast by now. If you mean "it's stuck" when you try to restart it when hot there is something else going on. If it seizes there should be scoring.

Re: A question on Les Andrews's ring specs
What exactly do you mean by "it locks up"? Does it seize? Does the starter not turn it over? How about the hand crank (with OR without spark plugs)?
It sure doesn't sound like rings.

You posted questions on this at the end of March. I spent way too much time attempting to be detailed in my responses. Was it too confusing?

Re: Roadster top installation help
There really isn't any concern about glass breakage on these. The rubbers were really put there to help protect the paint. The original glass (and frames) were quite thin and light weight. If you...
