The joint plates could have been used when attaching the wheels to the rim.

There were steel ones back in the day. Several companies made those. Never have seen any aluminums ones or heard people saying anything about them and have been following T forums for a long time....

If it has been sitting for a while, the clutch disks might be sticking so the high speed may not disengage. You might have to jack the rear up and use those car dollies to move it. Even if they do...

If you can get any of them out, the rest will be easy. Wiggle as J Franklin said, helps. Try not to lift or pry by the points. That will mess up the adjustment.
