Re: 1934 hydraulic rear brakes
The Boling Brothers' Lincoln style brakes use the '40 style hubs (internal to the drum).
Hubs would need to match the drums. They don't need to match the backing plates. ie) '40 hubs/drums with...

Re: What color are these cars?
I'd say the '32 is some non-original color, and the Model A might be a modern attempt at reformulating the Rubelite Red, but photographed in a overcast conditions with an uncalibrated white balance.

Re: Narrow V8 Rear Axle
You've asked this same question on the HAMB, though, which is a site dedicated to traditional hot rods.
You're getting gruff because you aren't illustrating your purported issue. Illustrate the...

Re: Narrow V8 Rear Axle
We're just confused at how they stick out really wide on your car but haven't on cars built in decades past.
A photo would really help to illustrate the issue.

Re: Navarro aftermarket heads
Keep in mind that the reproduction Sharp heads also come from H&H, so they're just as likely to have machining issues as the reproduction Navarro would be.

Re: Narrow V8 Rear Axle
Mock up your Model A rear axle with the hubs used for your Lincoln (Bendix) brakes. Put under the car and install wheels. Post photos.
The Boling Lincoln style drums use '40 Ford style hubs. ...

Re: 8RT vs Early 24-stud Length
Dang it. I forgot about the height difference.
The chassis has mounts set up for the 8RT. I suppose the flanges on the earlier pumps being lower wouldn't be the end of the world in this case as...

Re: 8RT vs Early 24-stud Length
Thanks fellas.
How about the width between the two water pump mounting points? I forgot to ask about that.
I was aware of the additional length due to the pulleys on the later engines. My...

8RT vs Early 24-stud Length
How close in length is a late 24-stud with 8RT water pumps and transmission bellhousing to an early 24-stud from the transmission mating surface to the mounting holes on the water pumps?
I don't...

Re: Stuck rear drums on 33 Vicky
It will depend upon which hydraulic brakes you have since they will use different adjustment methods. The Lockheed brakes ('39-48 type) have adjustment cams that rotate the shoes in/out. The Bendix...

Re: Which Rear?
Your issue wasn't the 8", it was the gear ratio you had in that 8".
If he's putting parallel leaves under it with the stock banjo, he's still "hacking it up" and might as well put in a more...

Re: Any value in a 21 stud flattie?
You are correct. A '37-38 engine with earlier heads would utilize the block-off plates at the in-block pump location. This would allow retrofit into a '32-36 model year car.

Re: T5 advice
Keep in mind new ones are Mustang spec and with only a single gearset. Not as easy to use in a EFV8 as the S10 housing.
It's expensive relative to a T5. Folks will have sticker shock. Not...

Re: T5 advice
The Tremec TKX is approximately the same length as a Camaro T5 and offers a shifter position similar to that of the S10 T5. It does vary from the T5 in the "girth" department. Not available with a...

Re: Are these “widow maker” wheels?
The AR, R-5, and RHP-5 are lock ring.
Only the RHP, RH-5, and RH are two-piece split, and of those only the RH-5 is known as the "Widow Maker".

Re: Simple wiring diagram for dummies
One route to take would be to utilize the basic schematic from a late 1950s / 1960s era vehicle, stripping out the items you wouldn't have in a roadster. They will be 12V negative ground, use more...

Re: Grease retainer
The early shields are round.
I don't believe the round shields will work with hydraulic brakes - either the '39-48 Ford or the Lincolns - due to the springs and parking brake linkages. You need...

Re: Bumpsteer
I assuming by "uprights" you mean the steering knuckles/spindles. You will really goof up the camber. The kingpin axis is not perpendicular to the spindle axis.
