I just got back my 352 from being rebuilt. It's in a 1965 full size Custom. My question is, since I haven't worked with a HEI before, is the timing setting suppose to be set right at TDC? That's...

Hard starting when warm/hot

Just purchased a 56 Ford with a transplant 292 Y block. Electronic fuel pump. On cold start the engine fires right up. But on a warm/hot restart it barely starts. I have a single barrel Ford carb on...

Re: 65 352 Big Block

There is no oil on the ground. No blue smoke. I will check the PCV. It idles like a kitten, that's the hard part to figure out. Last night I tried a product called engine wash. Pour the quart in, let...

Re: 65 352 Big Block

Something to consider. Last night I tried a product called engine wash. Pour the quart in, let the motor run for 5 minutes, drain and new filter. Anxious to see if this will loosen up any movable...

PennGrade Motor Oil

I just had my 255 Merc Flathead rebuilt, and the company that rebuilt it said I should use PennGrade motor oil. When checking on Amazon, this stuff is expensive! Almost $100 per case of 12. Has...

Re: Someday this engine will run right.

Thanks, I'm sure that's what happened to my Pertronix unit. I've ordered another, this time to be more careful.

Re: Someday this engine will run right.

Hi Fritz, I do have the Pertronix coil that is recommended. I remember that I did leave the switch on when doing the timing. Forgot to turn it off. What is bewildering is that the engine stopped...
