Re: Stainless valves problem
The valves in my 1914 Cadillac had the head the valve threaded to the stem. I now have 6.25 boreCaterpillar valves with the stems centerless ground stems.

special leaf spring lube
Not long ago there was a post and some one mentioned a special grease that could be used when assembling the spring. I can't seam to find it now. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

The car started just fine in 1929/31 using low octane fuel. and batteries that were probably not as good as what we have now. I show my 1914 Cadillac at the national meet, it starts great on 6 volts...

I made a tool to straighten the u bolts in place with no damage to the threads. 4 inch piece of 1/2 black pipe 1/2 elbow with a other pipe as a handle 18 to 24 inches long. slide the 4 inch section...

Thanks to all who replied to my question. I think I am going to take the "easy fix" first; if that doesn't produce the desired result, I will remove both front and rear springs, disassemble, clean...

I used a box of small self tapping screws so they could be removed from the tank with a magnet, and they are small enough to go under the baffles

I put one on my 1929 roadster pickup. My steering wheel is from a 1913 Cadillac. Takes some work but well worth the effort.
