Re: Idle Mixture Screw

Back in 73 my dad bought a new Datsun pickup. After he had it for about a month it wasn't as peppy as it had been so he took it back to the dealer. The salesman took a ride with him and told him he...

Re: Cast fuel bowl leaking- round two

I had an issue a couple of months ago with what I thought was the fuel bowl on the firewall leaking. I finally figured out that the 40yo line to the carburetor was what was leaking. Put a new one on...

My dad installed one on his 28 and when I rebuilt the steering box on my 30 I put one on. Huge difference! I highly recommend them!

Re: 1931 Model A not turning over

Re: Dropping the oil pan

I don't have a lift in my garage so 1 thing that helped me was using ramps to drive on. I pulled up on the front 2 and then jacked the rear up and put 2 back there. That raised the car enough where I...

Re: sign of the times

Back in the mid 70's my dad and I restored a AA truck. That was the first vehicle I learned to drive. From there I went up to a 53 International pickup with 3 on the tree.

Re: Idle Mixture Screw

Start off by putting a 1/8 pipe plug in the vacuum port on the intake. If your car runs better then you know where to look for a vacuum leak. I use a manual vacuum pump to test the wiper and lines....

Re: Pumping gas

Lol, mine too! There was a huge swimming resort about 5 miles from my station. There was always someone in a bikini stopping by for gas or directions. I'm starting to see why I liked that job.....

Re: Pumping gas

Not sure but I worked in a full service gas station in the late 70's as a teen. It had self serve on 1 side and full service out front. Kept me busy but it was fun! A few years after I left it was...

Re: leg room 30 roadster

I have a friend that is a pilot and he has collected sign in records of local airports. The pilot had to sign in the log book with his name, weight, height, and destination so the airport would...

Re: sign of the times

I raised 6 kids and made them all learn to drive a manual. The only 1 that could not master it was my left hander. I could understand that because I'm not sure I would be that good with a RHD car!...

Awesome! My dad made 1 for our A pickup back in the 70's. It only came to the bottom of the rear window.

Re: Lifting 30 Tudor body

I took my 30 Tudor off a few years ago by running heavy duty ratchet straps over several rafters in my garage and under the body. I took my time and raised a little at a time. When one ran out of...
