ID Front Motor Mount Removing the engine and found this front motor mount I am guessing aftermarket. Looks heavy duty trying to decide to reuse it or replace with original setup. Comments appreciated

Re: ID Front Motor Mount Looks like an original Forged front motor mount. Restoration Guidelines and judging Standards page 1-3 revised 2011, used form Nov 1928 thru June 1930.

Re: ID Front Motor Mount The forged mount is original. The spring set is not, and is a poor aftermarket item. It is too tall, too stiff, and the rubber inserts make matters worse. The result is usually a motor that sits too high for the crank to fit into the ratchet, and excess vibration. If you buy the original type spring set, which is two cylindrical springs (not bee hive) and a plate to index them against the frame crossmember, you will have an original setup, which I think give the best results.

Re: ID Front Motor Mount Thanks I do have a kit to put it back to original. Not the only unusual thing I also found when I dropped the wish bone the radius ball holder had no top cap but had the felt pulled down into the top of the mount on the bell housing. The ball does look round so I will also be putting that back as original and see how it fits.

Re: ID Front Motor Mount My 30 coupe had that syle , I took it off and went to original. The bottom of the springs and the wire connecting piece wore in to the crossmember.
