Radiator woes I installed a brand new Brassworks radiator from Bratton in my 31 Tudor today. When I installed the Moto Meter radiator cap, it couldn't be closed due to the temperature bulb coming into contact with the overflow tube. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, what is the fix ?
Thanks, John |

Re: Radiator woes Call them and complain, as that problem was to be fixed over two years ago !!..

Re: Radiator woes move the overflow tube over. Will take you about 10 seconds.

Re: Radiator woes As Fred said but they (The Brassworks) constantly state here on this forum that there is no problems with their radiators.

Re: Radiator woes I have heard many a happy owner of the Berg's radiators and I spoke with them last year at Hershey. Very nice family. Ice Man, I havent heard of Walker, do they make or reman their own?

Re: Radiator woes Gery sent an email from Bergs and his new tanks are ready and he is back in production. Great company to work with.

Re: Radiator woes I have heard nothing but BAD about BRASSWORKS. I had my old one fixed.

I can fix that. MY Brassworks radiator is awesome. there, now you cant say that anymore :) |
Re: Radiator woes If I bend it and it breaks, then there is no warranty.I bought it through Brattons, knowing little about radiators except the guy who "fixed" my old one bent most of the fins and it is still pluged after his repair.

Re: Radiator woes I took my radiator to Bergs a year ago and he rebuilt it using my tanks and brackets. He did an excellent job. There were no problems installing the rebuilt radiator and no other issues. It ran cool through out the season, even on the warmest days.

Had a Walker 10 fin on my '30 when I bought it. Bitchin' GREAT radiator, even in 112 degree heat. I inquired with the serial # and found out it was made in '93. He said they didn't make the stock authentic "A" radiators anymore as they couldn't get GOOD, authentic, top & bottom tanks. They still make "A" radiators for street/hot rod applications. Bill W. |
Re: Radiator woes I will call Brassworks after Christmas. I am afraid if I bend or cut the tube inside the upper tank, I might break the solder joint.
It just torques me off to pay big money for something that doesn't work and causes me to waste my time doing something twice. |
Re: Radiator woes If you had checked here FIRST most people would have said get one from Bergs..Like I said, this problem and others was to be fixed over two years ago.. This was told to me by the owner on the phone..

Re: Radiator woes Slip a phillips screwdriver down into the overflow tube and gently bend it back toward the windshield. Slip the screw driver up a bit after you bend it back a bit. Repeat a few times. You get a nice curve that way. It won't break any solder joints.

Re: Radiator woes Don`t do anything untill you talk to them (Brassworks) You may be sorry..
