Model T or A jack??? What have I got here?
I bought this jack on epay for a small price thinking it was a early Model A fliptop jack or a Model T jack. There is no hole in the flip top and I thought I remembered that that made it an early Model A jack. When I got it and compared it to the judging standards there are a number of differences and there is not one marking or number on the entire jack. Also the jack sits a little off center length ways unlike the ones shown in the Judging Standards. No Ford Script! It works beautifully and is in like new condition on the surface. It is in such good shape I thought at first it was a modern piece. |

if there is no hole in the top ,it is not a Model A jack
this type of jack was widely copied and sold through many outlets, such as Grand Auto, western auto ,pep boys etc they are as common as dirt ,almost every swap meet has some before you spend more money I really suggest Dave Adairs little pocket book it shows all the correct tools, and you can put it in your pocket when you go to swap meets the first tool you DONT buy will pay for the booklet its $10 pp from Dave Adair 895 Hazelwood Dr Oregon City Or 97045 no, i dont sell this book nor do I get any money from it tom |
