Wolf Whistle I put a new wolf whistle on my intake manifold and it does not work. The wiper works well. The air just rushes through it with no whistle. What could be the problem?
|
Re: Wolf Whistle Not sure about the newer ones but the older ones have a spinning disk at the bottom of the trumpet. If yours has one check to be sure its free. Also check to be sure that the adapter to the manifold has a large enough hole. They like lots of vacuum!
Good luck! Tom |
Re: Wolf Whistle the new whistle out of the catologs are junk, the insides always fall out or just alot of air when you pull the actuating arm
|
Re: Wolf Whistle True or false? The wolf whistle allows cold air onto hot valves and therefore damages the valve.

Re: Wolf Whistle Quote:
I had a wolf whistle on my 55 Chevy in high school, and never had a problem. Once in a while I'd have to spray some light oil on the whistle spinner to make it blow. Also make sure the whistle spinner isn't installed backwards. The spinning disc faces AWAY from the open end of the trumpet. |
Re: Wolf Whistle i have a wolf whistle and thought it was not working
until i just pulled the wire a very slight bit and it worked fine. |
Re: Wolf Whistle had numerous 'wolf' whistles. found MANY that were actually made wrong. they were the brass screw in motor type (the part that does the whistle is called the motor). many of mine had the screwdriver slot ON THE WRONG END. replacement motors are available from Speedway.

Re: Wolf Whistle Sound's like to many problem's with a wolf whistle.
Im going with a simple backfire sw. on my dash :D. |
Re: Wolf Whistle yes, I have encountered other problems with them too. most notably is the cast ones always crack at the large threaded fitting creating a vacuum leak and making them inoperable. I make up new ones with a thicker base out of brass.
