Top 5 Worry-Free Classic Cars

Saw this article today about the top 5 worry-free classic cars to own, and the Model A was on the list. Worth a look. Sorry I don't know how to post this as an active link.

In my opinion the model A with it's mechanical brakes is way above the other choices, having worked on 60s european and english cars i don't think the sprite should be on the list, MGB yes, volvo 122 --yes, austin Healy 3000 yes, the sprite/midget series has many weaknesses ---I did so many of those transmissions that I still remember many of the trans parts #s

Model A and early Mustangs would be on my list but what is that guy thinking to include the early solid rear axle Corvettes, Datsun Z and an Austin Healey Sprite? Where are the pre-70's VW Beetle or 55-57 Chevy?

I sure wouldn't list a solid axle Vette as worry free- for more reasons than I will get into on a Ford forum. Not to mention they just aren't that comfortable to drive for any great distance. But that's beyond the scope of the article.

They did right by putting the Model A as #1.

My wife and I own a 64 1/2 mustang convertible which has the anemic 6, according to Motor Trend at the time. Other than a little maintenance, brake work and new tires, I have done little or nothing to the car. It starts every time, and goes down the road smooth.
My father in law, has been restoring Model A Fords since the 60's and has quite a few nice ones. He has a 1930 Pickup that my wife remembers since she was a small child. It was in our wedding. The bride and groom rode in a 31 standard roadster! Great cars, nothing like their Aahhoogah!!!
