New car no motor.

Just bought a 1930 Tudor and it needs a motor. I have a block I think is rebuildable but don't want tp do the work myself. After browsing web I am interested in getting an H&H motor set up for touring. Has anyone had dealings with them or know of them? Need some comments and opinion of their work and products. Thanks.

Where are you located? That might make a difference in who we would suggest, just from a logistics standpoint.

Located in Safford AZ. About 110 miles east of Tucson.

You might consider just keeping your engine to use as a CORE to trade in. Many engine rebuilders have engines in stock and you can just pick one up, dropping off your own block as a trade in.
I did that with Antique Engines in IL, which, understandably is a haul from AZ, but you might wish to call one of the major engine rebuilders to see about shipping charges to your location. They might compare favorably after figuing gas, motel, tolls, meals, etc.
You can then use their shipping container to ship your trade-in block to them.

H&H have been around for a while. I don't recall hearing of a stay away from them story. I do know there are two sides of the house, V8's and Fours.

I like rich antique engine rebuilding. He stands behind his work, and probably sells the same as, or more engines than just about anyone. Great guy to deal with.

Give Sammy a ring on 480 782 0266 - he may have something in stock.

If not, he'll steer you right.

I use to live just down the road from Safford -- in Morenci.

If it were me, I'd get an engine from Ron Kelley in the DFW area. He's probably just as close as H&H in California.

Ron would be the first guy I would let build Me an engine. He's incredibly smart about machine work, and hes a great guy. My problem is I don't have enough money to get one from him... He sure is proud of his motors
