I have a 23 Mdoel T with 440/450 21" tires. I need to buy two black walls, bian ply, no nylon. I haven't bought lately and am in sticker shock. Where have you found the best prices for bias tires?

I bought mine from Universal, but that was a few years ago.

Hey Abbie.... yer in for the time of your life! I believe the only domestically made tires are by Firestone, maybe a brand from from Chile S.A. and the rest are almost exclusively made in VIET NAM of all places! (Irregardless of the brand name on the sidewall!). Typically, the the VN tires last 2 years or so even with ZERO miles. Poor rubber compounding. The UV sunlite is especially hard on them... they just crack to pieces.
I was very fortunate to get a nice set of older tires with a set of wire wheels, and also picked up 4 more oldies from a Model A with tubes. The "A" tires are perfect and probably 20 years old. I think I paid $400 from an ebay guy last winter... PLUS SHIPPING !!! Good hunting! ws

Wow yachtsmanbill, how were you lucky enough to get a set of wire wheels with nearly new tires? Are they on your little yellow car? Man you're either rich or you've got some really great friends!

What year did they change from 33 1/2" tires to 21" tires? I'm guessing 1923.

Optional 21" tires & wheels begain in 1925.

Lester 440/450-21 from Universal Tire. Now $135 but made in USA.
