Speedometer cable routing

How does the speedometer cable get from the driveshaft to the speedometer?
My Wagon didn't come with one and I have no idea of the route it should take.
Thanks, Job

Re: Speedometer cable routing

The speedometer cable comes out of the drive shaft. There is a "clamp" that goes around the cable and attaches to the upper lip of the frame. The cable passes through the firewall on the passenger side to the inside of the firewall. There's another clamp in the shape of a question mark. From there, the cable enters the passageway under the gas tank and connects to the speedometer. All of the curves in the cable are gentle - nothing sharp. There should be a rubber grommet where the cable passes through the firewall. I believe that all the clamps and grommets are available through the parts dealers.
