Question for 33 owners. Is the radiator simply bolted rigidly to the frame with two bolts and nuts, or should there be springs involved??

Re: Question for 33 owners. Rubber pads, hex bolts with drilled shanks, springs, castle nuts, and cotter pins, with everything but the head of the hex bolts above the cross member.

Re: Question for 33 owners. Springs go ABOVE the radiator feet. I'm guessing they only helped when the chassis flexed, not to reduce any vibration from normal driving.

Re: Question for 33 owners. Good question Mart, I know about the springs and stuff but i have a 33 chassis and i take it a 34 radiator (it came with my car!!) the issue i have is that i have to space up the radiator from the frame to clear the crossmember and obviously that creates issues with the hood grille alignment are 33 different from the 34 radiators?

Does the bottom of your radiator look like this ? If not you need to find a different radiator . 33 & 34 take the same radiator . Only the grille brackets are different .

Re: Question for 33 owners. Bob, my radiator has been damaged by frost. The lower tank has ballooned and doesn't fit too well to the chassis. If your's looks like the picture and doesn't fit, it may be a bit out of shape like mine.
I can get some measurements and good photo's off mine if you like. Mart. |
Re: Question for 33 owners. Hmmm It dont look like that , when looked at from the front the edges of the radiator taper towards the outer framework could it be 34 pickup? I will try and grab a pic next time i'm down the unit..
