Just a Little Deuce Coupe with a Flathead Mill, running again after the rebuild...
 

It's running really good. I had to go up from 0.035" to 0.040" jets in my Stromberg 81s and it's running great! The L-100 cam sounds great and has great driveability. It's a 265 inch engine, 3.248" x 4.00" Merc crank, Arias pistons which fit the dome of the Edelbrock heads extremely well. Before the rebuild, I was at about 7 1/2:1 compression and now I'm at 9.1:1. The 12 volts was another great improvement, it starts immediately and my taillights are visible even in daylight! Thanks to everyone here who offered advice and helped get me through the build. Yes, that's it. I've been driving it since then, but a broken intake valve spring turned into a full rebuild! You'll have to stop by again...

Your motor is looking good. I am glad you got it done. Arias pistons are great. I just put a set in a blowen flathead i did for a guy here in Va. I will be glad to get the upholsery done on my 34 three window and get on the road to see you.

I had someone ask about the upper hoses on my flathead and I took a picture of them before removing the labels so I'd have a record of it. They are NAPA # 8935. They fit the heads nicely, but there are bushings on the radiator necks to step them up to fit the hoses. The bushings are just a piece of hose with the correct i.d. for the radiator and the correct o.d. for the Napa hoses. Randy

Also, I found a hose that worked really well for the lower hoses on this car. It has 59A style water pumps with a Walker radiator. The hoses are a NAPA # 7927. I cut what I needed off of one end and there was a lot of waste, but what I used fit very well.

Sweeeeeet! Thanks for the Napa part # on the hoses, I too was gonna ask. Liked the video..too bad you have to crank it so long to get it started..NOT LOL

Good description of the motor but you left out the exhaust..who's headers and what kind of mufflers? Love the overall look and sound of the car, you built a nice one!

Thanks. Red's Headers and some really short glasspacks that the muffler shop had. I took a pair of the short Smithy's with me, but they were still too long to use the stock battery box on the driver's side without hanging down.

I don't remember having too many choices, but they were the coated headers for a flathead in a stock '32 chassis with unsplit wishbone and stock '32 steering.

Thanks. These headers are fine, but I'd probably rather have the Fentons for looks, but they are more expensive and I've been told that the left side has to be modified to fit the '32 chassis with '32 steering.
