Wheel chokes was my first thought also, but I hope the parking brake really locks the rear wheels tight. That's the first time I've seen such an extreme lift as this.

Do you think they think they used the chain hoist on the front bumper to lift it?

I bet the guy working on it would have quite a bit to say to all of you if he were alive. You know, things like "back in my day when men were MEN..."

;)

And here we are today worrying about the safety of our spring spreaders !!!

Re: What’s wrong with this picture?

They just got 5 grease monkeys together to lift it!

It looks like someone could just lean against the back of the car and those stupid "jack stands" would tilt right over! - or the front wheels would roll right out those cute little "cups".

'Hope that car's rear main seal is tight!

At least he doesn't get his cloths dirty laying on the floor.

zero lost time accidents should drive the insurance rates down, Can't you see the bragging sign on the wall. "IT'S BEEN 3 HOURS SINCE OUR LAST ACCIDENT"..... Probably should say 3 hours since our last death.

Looks like its already leaking:rolleyes:. Ck the puddle on the floor:eek:. If I did that it would fall off on my foot (or worse) and then bounce up and knock the light tubes out of the ceiling:mad:

Must be a Chevy garage. Maybe they just put oil in the front and left everything fill up from the rea axle forward.

Re: What’s wrong with this picture?

The more I look at it the more I think it's not as bad as I first thought.First, the feet are big,and look far more stable than a lot of the above ground lifts made today.Second,in order to roll away those front wheels have to actually roll UP a hill to get free of those cups. With my garage lift the car has a tendency to roll ahead a couple of inches when I get out of the car.I have just a little dip in the floor at the left front wheel.I have 1/2 of an old 1-1/4 impact socket that I use as a trig,it has sat on the floor for 10 or 15 years.I roll the car to where I want it on the lift, then kick that old socket half in front of the tire.I can not push a car over that socket.I think the weight on those front tires is plenty enough to keep it in place.Looks pretty scarey, but I bet it was plenty stable.

Thanks for the post/idea! Hmm, always wanted a 'cheap' car lift, that did'nt use much space and easily stored. Now have the blueprint !
