Holley 2100 Model 94 4-bolt base carb question

Anyone know the original application that a 4-bolt base Holley 2100 Model 94 List 6244 fits. How well does it work on a 4-bolt merc flathead manifold? Many thanks to all for your time...jack

That number Holley is listed for a VW Bug, pre '72 six volts. It would fit an aftermarket manifold. It is jetted and calibrated for the small cid VW. There are two versions listed, but both are for the Bug. May not be the best choice for your Merc.

Re: Holley 2100 Model 94 4-bolt base carb question

Most folks use the Rochester 2G carbs that fit the 4-bolt patern to replace the shrouded 885 Holley. All the early Chandler Groves/Holley carbs were three bolt flange and would require an adapter to fit the 4-bolt pattern. The 2100 DD and EE were 4-bolt set ups but were mostly used on trucks into the mid 50s Y-block engines. I think most also had governors due to the truck usage. There were some made in the late 60s & early 70s for performace additions to the VW aircooled engines with "Bug Spray" manifolds and they may have still had "94" on the castings but would have been the 2100 or 2110 types with larger venturis than the old 94/100ths types.

Yes the 55-6 pickups had a 94 style carb with a larger venturi 1 1/32 I think. Where;s Ken Ct when you need him

I would have to ask the builder on the jetting. Never been bolted on. Just sits on the shelf in a plastic bag waiting for a new owner.

Re: Holley 2100 Model 94 4-bolt base carb question

It might be a tad small for a 255 Merc engine.Look at the size of the venturies on a Merc back draft carb. Their humungus. ken ct. Most were used on trucks with a gov on them.

And if you are still using the original type full vacuum distributor you are pretty much confined to to pre'57 Ford product carburetors which have the venturi vacuum passage.
