Re: 1936 ford sedan bumper mounting bracket

Just to be sure you get what you want - here's a thread I posted a few days ago:

I've been struggling with this issue for a couple of months and gone thru 3 sets of brackets... none of which is/was correct.

If I understand it now??? the outer bracket, with a 90 degree bend brings the bumper to about 1 1/2 inch from the fender.

35 bumpers have about a 45 degree angle on the bent over end. 36's have a 60 degree angle. That means the 36 brackets should have a slight bend downward about 2/3 of the way out towards the end because the mounting hole is about 3/4 inch lower. I have 1 of these for my 36.

The 35 brackets do not have the bend. I have 2ea 35 outers that I can't use.

I have another set I bought on epay that should come this week. Hopefully they will be 36 with the downward bend. If they are correct, I'll have one extra with the bend.

Now - what I got on epay was a good set of 36 inner and outer brackets.
Cost me a hundred bucks but...I Finally got what I needed.

What I have left over: 2 outer brackets for a 35 bumper ($30)

1 passenger side 36 outer bracket ($20)

1 driver side 36 outer that was cut ($5)
and welded from a passenger side

converted to a driver side
