Windshield , Garnish moulding and Dash rail ?

I have painted myself into a corner. Have tried for four hours today to install the three items using several different sequences with no success.
I installed the garnish mouldings first and could not get the dash rail or windshield hinge installed. Installed the dash rail then couldn't get the garnish mouldings in place. What am I missing here? I don't want to force them in and destroy my paint job. Will someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks
Warren

First off, I sense you are frustrated but could you tell us what bodystyle & year? Also, did you "test fit" prior to painting to ensure you had clearance necessary? Is the windshield frame/hinge in proper location? Did you test fit with the seal?

I went through this recently and had to do a little grinding on the window garnishes to get them to fit. And as Brent mentioned, I did grind them down prior to painting...(this time...) LOL

Bob; Thanks for your reply. I went back to the shop this AM and tried the garnish moulding again. I jiggled it around a bit, and it dropped right in place with the winshhield already installed . Amen! Windshield fit with no problem. This is my first Model A restoration and my car was disambled when I purchased it. Brent , I will definately remember to try fit or assemble things before painting on my next project.
I really appreciate the help I have received from everyone here on the barn and the info that is available here.
