This a Bren Gun carrier Fan Extension and the correct fan that goes with it, I have the Fan extension , But i've been desperatly looking for this correct fan going on 6 years now. Looked everyware, no Luck. BIG MIKE

Find a fan The same OD, same number of blades with the same pitch angle and have a machinst drill the 4 matching holes to the adaptor. I doubt whether pushing the air forward would matter in your tank if the blades the were at the opposite pitch and may be better if it pushed the air out through the front air opening. The interior will be a lot cooler. You don't get air forced through the radiator from forward motion at the speeds you travel. Ford made pusher blades for slow moving tractors so they wouldn't pull debree into the radiator. You put a fan like the one in the picture on and with the new radiator if it has more capacity than the old one your problems are over. G.M.

Mike, Do you have have the Ford part number for the blade you're looking for? If so, go to www.partsvoice.com and try there. Put the number in without spaces or dashes in the part number. You might get lucky.

Military items that had no cross over to the civilian sector are usually easier to source through military surplus outlets but the amount of time since the Bren Gun Carrier was in service can have a big effect on part availability. I know the US military used the NSN & FSN numbering systems (National Stock Number/Federal Stock Number). I don't know if Canada, Australia, or the UK used systems like this or not. If a person could get this type of information and check the worlds surplus outlets, there just might be a part out there. I know there were a lot of US military parts stockpiled in Europe after the war. I just wonder if some would have kept a part like that without taking it to the scrap metal dealers. If the Israeli miltary ever used them, there is a good chance there might be some parts over there. They don't throw anything away.

All WW II military parts also carried manufacturers numbers, although the numbers on some stuff was altered slightly to specify military. Sort of a dual numbering system. THat fan blade was definitely not used in anything civilian. I've restored alot of military stuff over the years and alot of the generic stuff ( gaskets, engine parts, chassis ) was shared with the civy stuff. Mike's best bet is probably finding someone with European connections who might be able to locate one over there. We have a Surplus store here in Ct. near me who has connections and he is always getting obscure stuff from Europe.

Mike go to www.haydenauto.com click on fan clutches and blades. There are 18 and 19" 6 bladed that could be adapted to your adaptor both pullers and pushers. That's the only one I looked up but there are plenty others who make blades. If you have a access to a Thomas Regresty there are plenty of fan manufactures. G.M.

let me know there was a lot of B/C used here for hilly orchard work.I might be able to find one .

Mike, What is the diameter of the blade an how many bolt holes. I'll have a look on my CMP.

George in my Manual it says it's a 19" fan with 6 blades, 4 bolt holds I think the CMP's had the reg Civi Fan's. the carrier Fans were made to draw more air in, Because they overheated all the time. Thanks mate! BM
