Model T on Pawn Stars

Did anybody watch Pawn Stars last night? A guy brought in a '14 Huckster that looked nice, seemed origional on the outside, but had a chevy drive train, modern guages and a cd player. The "expert" was called in and gave a brief rant about how the heart of the car was the frame (all these years stupid me thought it was the drive train), so all was good. The Pawn Star guy then offered the seller $20,000, which the fellow accepted. WOWWEEE! I really like Hucksters, but was that price on the Moon, or am I this much out of touch? Not much reality in this reality show.

I think street rod VS restored original pricing.

Saw it too. It was the "Taxi" in the advert that got me to watch. These modified cars (to me) are worth zip. However the unknowing mob out there is larger than the knowing mob and I don't doubt they'll sell it on. Based on looks alone.

I saw this comedy too- Total joke- I saw little or nothing that came from an original T at all- I believe it had an Olds four-cylinder motor as well- The cynical side of me says these wankers license their plastic-bodied, Chebbie-motored vehicles as Model A's or T's only to get cheap insurance, then when they are in an accident, it's called an "Antique Car..."
I recently spoke with one such owner at one of our local Car Shows who was telling me about his "Model A Roadster"......not a single original part there!

I thought it sold for way less than the cost of the build, they'll make a profit on it, the shop is a business to make money. It is the mosted viewed show on cable, you learn something every time you watch it.
