Pilot bushings.
 

I’ve been wrestling with finding the right pilot bushing to mate the original ‘40 trans with my sbc. Both Speedway and Advance Adapters have quit carrying the preferred bronze bushing. I finally found Paul Coffey at Modern Driveline who was very knowledgeable on the subject. They have a reversible bushing that works great for this application. It is the bronze material and is made in house
