gas cap venting

Installed a new fuel pump on my 55 Ford. The old one was leaking. I was taking it for a ride yesterday and a few minutes later it stopped running. I started it again a few minutes later. Seems I had this problem about 10 yrs. ago. It was the Gas Cap Vent Hose. I don't remember where I bought it. Can you tell me where I could purchase one? Thank You.

Re: gas cap venting

Isn't the vent hose just a rubber hose connected to a nipple off the side of the tank ? Nothing connected to the cap.

Your right. It's not connected to the gas cap. It comes off the vent line in the trunk. Down to a rubber hose and connects to a nipple that that is on the gas tank. I'd like to know where I could purchase the rubber hose. Thanks!!!

Unless the vent line is clogged shut it shouldn't affect fuel delivery.
Check for fuel flow & pressure at the carburetor or debris in the fuel lines or carb.

Was it a brand new fuel pump that looks like this one?
These new pumps with Phillips head screws all come from china and are Defective in the box.
Do you still have the old fuel pump you took off?
