'32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders I was given a pair of Fiberglass front fenders to use on a 1934 1 ton truck. Are there differences much over 32-34?

Re: '32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders 32 are different, but 33 is the same as 34.

Agree. 1932 fits 1932 and 1932 ONLY, but is the same for truck, pickup, and passenger. 1933-34 fits both truck and pickup and panels ONLY. One detail is most truck fenders had a RH spare tire well. Easiest way to tell is to place a straight edge starting 12" back where the fender sits on top of the frame to the back of the hood. 1932 should be straight, 1933-34 will be arched. Or you can post pix and several of us here can identify them. Before you commit to using the fiberglass fender be aware that there is a wide range of accuracy of fitting between fenders made by different manufacturers. Some may fit very well and others are not even close. |
Re: '32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders The '33-34 fenders have a small rectangular bump on the horizontal flange approximately aligned with the grill shell location. See photo linked below. The '32 fenders are smooth.

Re: '32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders Thank you for the information.

Re: '32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders So I'm assuming that 32 fenders would not work on a 33 or 34. Different wheelbase as well? 106" vs 112" if memory serves.
Question. Are 32 commercial shells and passenger shells interchangeable on 33/34 commercial vehicles? (Assuming you change the hood, radiator and the grill) or will they not work on one another? Thanks Gordy |
Re: '32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders First, lets get our lingo in a line. 1932 passenger has a radiator shell and a separate grille (insert). 1932, 1933, and 1934 commercial (which includes both "truck" and "pickup") have an integral grille and radiator shell stamping (and all three are different).
The 1932 passenger grille/shell assembly will interchange with the commercial grille. The 1933 and 1934 commercial grilles will interchange with each other. In comparison to 1932 the 1933 and 1934 commercial grilles are wider (to fit the 1933-34 radiators), taller, and have a different attitude as they lean back at a bit of an angle rather than more or less straight. With a big enough hammer you could put one on the other but any discussion of esthetics should be over on the HAMB. |
Re: '32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders Fenders won’t interchange, and neither will grilles. Karl has the details, but that’s the gist.

Re: '32 '33' 34 Truck front fenders To add further detail, the '33 and '34 commercial grilles are unique to the respective years. There are slight differences in stamped features in the areas where trim is applied to the shells surrounding the radiator cap.
So, to reiterate: 1932 commercial = 1932 only, but can be substituted with passenger grill shell+insert 1933 commercial = Year unique grille shell (and hood sides) 1934 commercial = Year unique grille shell (and hood sides) 1933 and 1934 commercial pieces are individually interchangeable, however. |
