Early Juice brake centralizer 4 Attachment(s)
I have a 1930 Model A coupe with juice brakes. The anchor pins for the brake shoes are slotted for the purpose of centering the shoes. I have the Barrett centralizer (B-168) with a broken cam screw. Any have this part or an idea how I can find a replacement part?

Re: Early Juice brake centralizer Unless I'm missing something, that piece is not needed. Maybe the manufacturer thought they could sell something that people thought would be better, but the stock setup is fine. One of many unnecessary accessories.
I wouldn't worry about it. Remove the screws and just fit the base plate or the stock Ford base plate. Tell me if I have read it wrong. Mart. |

Re: Early Juice brake centralizer Looks like a gimmick to sell to customers after convincing them that the "floating" lower anchors on '42-'48 caused excess lining wear.
Too bad there is not a patent number on there; would have been an interesting one to look up. |
Re: Early Juice brake centralizer That is for holding the shoes steady in order to use the Barrett Brake doktor to allow it to “arc” the shoes to the drum.
It is not intended to stay on the car,it is a tool. |

Re: Early Juice brake centralizer So, some shop dog got scolded 60 years ago when the boss discovered the lower plate of the brake grinding kit was missing.
