8BA Crossover pipe
 

That front exhaust crossover pipe on the 8BA engine in my 52 Merc. I don't know if new ones are available for replacement. Mine has a couple of holes in it that I've been patching up but not sure how long the patches will last.

what I did with my pipe was hack saw it in 2, not in the middle but more on the driver's side. then piece flexible tube over as much of the crossover as possible (clamp each end.) The gaskets are at Oreilly's, and some of that exhaust tape and putty will finish the job. In all honestly, I would buy a new or good used one but can't find one. P.S. remove the under plate for the cut, then put back plate.

A good exaust shop should be able to reproduce with out to much trouble. I think you car may be telling you duel pipes will make it happier with better cooling , fuel milage and pep. Tim

If patching won't do, I have been to Third Gen -- and I have seen one or two new there.
