Rear stop light - in my spare 4 Attachment(s)
I like to be safe when driving my 35 wagon, especially now with everyone eyes on their phones. So I have put together an added stop light. I got a 35 hubcap, and cut out the center V8 (about 3"). I purchased a new small STOP assembly and inserted the STOP light in the hole. Trying to make the lens flush with the hubcap looked to be a real hassle, so I set the STOP to project from the cap... I secured the whole thing with HD adhesive and CA glue. It will be installed when I get the car out of storage.
I also have a flashing LED strip in the rear window. Oh, and I also have yellow flasher mounted under the tailgate which I have on all the time... I hope "they" can see me!! |

Re: Rear stop light - in my spare Great Idea! Inspires me to do something similar to my wagon. I have just one tail/brake light on mine and when I'm on the interstate it always occurs to me I should have a secondary or two with the modern LED. But then I get back to the island and doesn't occur to me until next trip. Thanks!

Re: Rear stop light - in my spare GB .. I do recall that wagons may only have the driver side rear tail light.. I have both on my 35.. When doing this set up I also considered a KD Stop lamp, but they are 6-7" diameter.. and hub cap is about the same. I wanted to be able to snap the cap on and/or remove it as needed. I made a full rear window for mine so that I could get full rear vision, the "glass" is clear plastic and I suction cup attach the LED strip to that. No possible with the canvas rear window. I also have replaced all incandescents with LED.. the red type in the rear... ledlight.com
