Is there a trick to attaching this spring on my 52 2dr sedan on the hood. I can't strech it that far.

Yes. Bend the spring in your hand and insert quarters or washers between the coils, bend it the other way and insert more, bend it again and insert more. Eventually it will be long enough. When you shut the hood all the washers will fall out on the ground.

The Art Doctor definitely steered me right. My spring looks like a bug, but with the washers and just a little nudge with a screwdriver it went on. Now all I have to do is paint it up. Attachment 582715
