Read: One Last Model A Drive Together Just got the latest issue of The Restorer Vol 70 Issue 6. There is an article I would like to suggest that you read: One Last Model A Drive Together.
This isn't a story about finding a dusty and rusty car and making it a show winner. It's one about a family's history with several Model A's with the focus on the bond between two brothers. From their first drive in a Model A in 1969 to their last in 2024, the brothers enjoyed driving Model A's and making memories. If Model A's make you think of family and friends. If you have a couple spare minutes. Do yourself a favor and enjoy, One Last Model A Drive Together. |
Re: Read: One Last Model A Drive Together yes it's a great read ... hey Dean what's the latest on A495? what a BEAUTY!!!!!!

Re: Read: One Last Model A Drive Together Ahhhh....A495. It took 9 years to finish that restoration. It was top point car when judges three times (2 MARC, 1 MAFCA). It spent two years at the MAFFI museum. Between those two years, I brought it out to the MAFCA meet in Colorado and the MARC meet in Perryville. I wanted people to see up close the unique features of the early cars.
When the time was up at MAFFI, I brought A495 to my place in Montana. Since we are surrounded by pastures and farms, there was always the potential danger of mice, voles, raccoons, etc.. To protect it in my shop I kept it in a trailer. At times I would bring it out, and have a beer or two. But that was no life for my friend, A495. It is now part of the Stan and Mary Sorrels collection. Though it is a ve28 living with a number of '30 and '31's, I am sure that it is happy. And so am I. |
Re: Read: One Last Model A Drive Together Yes, I can understand your deep connection, financially and emotionally. These machines become a part of us, especially the unique restoration jobs, or those that have played active roles in family ties. thank you for sharing her with us.

Re: Read: One Last Model A Drive Together Dean. Yes a great read for sure. I actually tire of all the resto stories. It's part of the gig I guess. But this story brought special memories for me and others too I bet.

Re: Read: One Last Model A Drive Together Hi Dean from Bozeman, Thanks for your comment on my article, "One last ride." Glad you really liked it. I am getting great responses from all over on that article. What a blessing it is to be able to honor my brother' memory this way. I asked for and got a miracle getting that old tudor to run. That ride really made my brother's day. Take care,
