Thank you! |

Re: 1947 Flatbed/Stakebed Spare tire carrier Was told these spare tire carriers were a Ford option, that true?

Re: 1947 Flatbed/Stakebed Spare tire carrier Ford trucks normally have spare tire carriers. Are you looking for information on 1/2 ton pickup or 1 1/2 ton trucks? Ford used many different solutions so with more detail provided you might get some help.

Re: 1947 Flatbed/Stakebed Spare tire carrier Model 51, (Stakebed or flatbeds, not pickups)
Very specifically i have a spare tire carrier minus hinges off the frame rails. i am trying to determine if it is for a half ton or tonner truck? would like to know how a half ton & 1ton truck hinges look like, photos? I believe they are riveted to the frame rails? Any photos of different carriers? Were carriers an option or did they come with ALL flatbeds or stakebeds? |
Re: 1947 Flatbed/Stakebed Spare tire carrier Can you post a picture of what you have? Big trucks normally have a spare tire carrier located between and under the frame rails at the rear. Most pickups have the spare mounted beside the cab. I think every vehicle came with a way to carry a spare tire and the space and configuration necessitated varying solutions.
A picture of what you have will really help narrow the investigation as there are just too many different types. |
