1939 flathead decode. 2 Attachment(s)
Hi all, Im looking for some help decoding the rebuild tag on a flathead I just picked up for my Model A. I’ve seached the internet for a few weeks without much success; figured I would throw it out to the experts.

Re: 1939 flathead decode. Apologies- was going to post a photo but it wont allow me.
Plate states rebuilt date as 11/21/47 in Windsor Ontario C39A. 6199. A C39T. 6211. Q 89. 6303. J 81A. 6331. J C01TS. 6333. F http://imgur.com/I6cNtkG |
Re: 1939 flathead decode. Shane, I'm guessing these numbers were (are) stamped into a metal tag. Correct?
They specify the bearing journal diameters that were utilized during the rebuild. Are you certain the first set of numbers are not 6169? The 6211Q means the connecting rods are .030" oversize. All main bearings are .020" over. |

Thanks for the reply Kube- Yep, I’m certain that the numbers are 6199 and yes they are stamped into the metal rebuild tag.
I will try and post a photo again. Attachment 582270 |
