It's possible. Keep in mind there are literally dozens of motors that appear very similar. Also, many (most?) of these are not rebuildable.

My '36 was converted to 12V by a previous owner which is great. I did find a Bosch 12 v motor. There is bound to be one that is 6V. Or, there are guys who can convert them.

The one that Drake sells is too long.

There is one on eBay item number:155129809596. I think this is how mine started out.

and this one, eBay item number:127586575953

If you dont want the one for $55, I have a friend who does.

ps, dont waste your money on the Mighty Mite. It is not Mighty and it doesn't work. It has plastic gears. Too bad, if they had made it with metal gears and a stronger motor, it would be great.

Careful on the electric and make sure it doesn't stick out past the header panel or you have to cut and trim it. Downside of the vacuum wiper motors is when you accelerate the motor stops until you back off the gas pedal. It almost Never rains in NM right?

Re: 36 wiper motor

I like vacume wipers as they dont make the constat gear noise and as for vacume wipers slowing down , a duel diaphram fuel pump or even better a vacume canister hidden under the dash makes that a non issue. Tim

Re: 36 wiper motor

After looking over the electric vs vacuum Im going with the vacuum. It doesnt rain much here but we do get whats called monsoon season and sometimes the rain is epic and it wont matter what type of windshield wipers you have. Ill look into the vacuum canister.
Thanks for replies!

do let us know what kind of vacuum canister you use. I tried that black one that is about the size of an orange one. No luck. Then I added an electric vacuum pump to the suck the canister out, still no luck.

I have heard of the Electro-vac but never followed up on it.

Re: 36 wiper motor

Maybe a vacuum pump similar to ones used on diesel pick ups? But they would be 12 volts so that would be an issue.

Re: 36 wiper motor

I have looked off and on for a good 6 volt vacuum pump for a while. They show up on eBay once in a while, but for a lot more than I want to pay. I'm always on the lookout for something that would make a decent looking vacuum reservoir to experiment with.
